We needed sage to complete the ingredients for the roast dinner, but there was none in the supermarket or the greengrocer’s. However, we were directed to an actual herb garden, which was at the very end of a very windy lane and run by an ancient woman who seemed quite suprised to see us. However, we found a sage plant in the end!
