My six particular humans and I went away for a long weekend at the end of November to celebrate my primary human’s birthday. We stayed at a wonderful place in East Grinstead called Sackville House.
It was a Tudor house, with lots of creaky floors and open fireplaces. The first bit we explored, however, was the garden.
This was reached through a pretty iron gate, and it went on…
…and on…
…and on…
There was even a cute little well in the courtyard.
It all looked so amazing from the outside, I couldn’t wait to see what it was like inside.
The living room had the same furniture that you find in every Landmark Trust property, but it was still quite atmospheric with all the wood panelling and beams.
There was also a little chapel area round the corner.
We spent most of our time in the dining room, though, making use of the fabulous table for playing games and eating lots of yummy food, not to mention enjoying a roaring fire.
My human’s sister-in-law provided the highlight by carving a special birthday pumpkin!
We also discovered there was a llama farm not far away, so we went on a group expedition to learn all about llamas.
Part of the afternoon involved going on a walk all around the grounds with one of the llamas and a staff member who told us all sorts of interesting facts and anecdotes.
They even had some my size!
Overall, a great weekend.
