The humans and I, along with some of our friends spent a weekend recently at the lovely Rosslyn Castle – part of the Landmark Trust family of properties.
We were keeping good company with the kind of people that have stayed on the site over the centuries – have a look at this list.

Because of the way it’s out on a pinnacle across a narrow stone bridge surrounded by big walls it’s rather hard to get a picture of the castle itself but it has the usual comfy Landmark Trust interior.

There were the usually array of games.

A whole array of period items.

This rather intellectual looking chap.

Our friends that like to cook produced some amazing food including a 14 hour lamb marinade and this nommy dessert.

As always Lizzie produce the best roaring fires.

Underneath the main parts of the house there were four levels of sub basements.

Despite what some people may have thought I was absolutely sure that she didn’t climb out of her painting and stalk the sub-basements during the night. Definitely. Assuredly. Um, something.
