On the way back to the car, I spotted this rather conspicuous bright blue post box. According to the information posted on it, someone flew a plane up to Windsor Castle in 1911 to deliver mail celebrating the coronation of King George V. Blue post boxes sprang up soon afterwards for the posting of this newly established “air mail”, and this one remains to commemorate it.
