(Before Christmas…)
Bear : I can’t believe it’s been five months since we’ve posted anything. I’m packing you off to Japan to do some exciting roving reporting!
Moomintroll : Awesome, can’t wait!

So, here I am in Japan. It’s all thanks to the lovely folks at Unagi Travel who arrange special holidays for folks like me. Usually, it’s on behalf on their human who is often a child who’s too sick to travel. They do a wonderful job.
I met up with other tourists from all over the world and we began with an orientation session first.

Gave me a chance to get to know the UK contingent.

A quick snack before we head out!

I can’t wait to get there!

This is Meiji Jingu Shrine.

It’s really popular.

What a beautiful Torii.

That was hungry work so it’s off to get some lunch at a top-class sushi place.

So many amazing noms!

Plenty for everyone!

Woah… This is a bit harder than I thought it would be…

So many new friends.

Through this fence is the Imperial Palace.

Unfortunately this is as close as we could get today – I’ll have to come back another time ;-).

On to the next venue!

Boo – have to wait for a train.

This is Sensō-ji Temple.

So much beautiful architecture.

Just time for a quick dessert!

A quick picture of the Tokyo skyline at dusk and then back into the city.

Tokyo station – downtown!

No, no, we did the Imperial Palace earlier – we’ve gone the wrong way!

Here at last – Tokyo Tower.

Sure is sparkly.

From 250 meters up the city is a river of lights.

I, erm, I don’t even…

Makes London look small by comparison. What a way to end the day.

My visit was a little longer than planned so I ended up being here over Christmas. I made even more friends and had a jolly old time.

After Christmas nosh it was out and about to see the lights.

Finally, safely home. Only the best in transport accommodation.

The letter from Unagi commemorating my time away.

They even gave me something to bring home and share with all my friends here. I must share with Bear to say thank you for my amazing adventure.
I want to give very special thanks to Sonoe Azuma for everything she did to make my stay so wonderful. 私の素敵な休日をありがとうございました。マスター·ツアーガイドです。
