Family Centenary Weekend!

The weekend before last, the humans and I travelled to Wilmington to celebrate 100 years since our family first arrived in the UK.

We stayed at the Wilmington Priory, a very nice example of a Landmark Trust building, which giant landings and sloping roofs:

There was a table tennis room with an awesome beamy ceiling, leading to a secret bedroom up in the eaves:

The kitchen was roomy, with a great table for playing games, always a prerequisite for our family holidays:

The garden was beautiful and had its own flock of doves in the ruins:

I do think my photo composition has improved over the years but, in this place, the photos practically framed themselves:

Creepy faces in the stonework and random metal chandeliers in the outbuildings just added to the charm of the priory:

Right across the road was the Wilmington Long Man. Its age and purpose are in dispute – but I liked one of the humans’ suggestions – “Bob’s Spear Emporium! Get Your Quality Spears Here!”

The view from the top (or actually part way to the top) of the hill was quite spectacular:

And a new friend joined the family – meet Accordion Bear!

Games were played, walks were walked, family-themed food was eaten – yay for Family Centenary Weekend!
