Highlands Holiday – Part Three

Further down the road our cottage was on, we discovered Strome Castle, which was situated on an exposed bluff, looking out over the water:

It was a bit of a scramble up a steep and narrow path to enter what was left of the castle, but it was well worth it for the view:

On the penultimate day of our trip, we took a drive through the mountains to Loch Ness, which was misty but still beautiful:

It was a bit damp and chilly but the humans put on a brave face:

The ducks didn’t seem to mind the cold:

We took a stroll around the nearby village of Fort Augustus, where we had visited on our previous trip to the area:

And, on our last day, we had a lovely walk up and down the road outside the cottage, admiring our lovely surroundings for a final time:

Someone was playing the bagpipes in a warehouse as we left – a fitting end to a glorious holiday!
