But we really felt like we were actually on the other side of the world when we reached…
Where we found the first of multiple geocaches we managed to locate in Sydney – the series was amusingly named Totally Findable Tourist Caches, which we very much appreciated!
The harbour walk around from the Sydney Opera House to the delightfully named Barrangaroo was really lovely.
And we enjoyed a glass of wine and some excellent octopus in Cockle Bay.
Hyde Park (not to be confused with the London version) was another source of multiple geocaches.
We also enjoyed walking around the botanical gardens.
I was taken rather by surprise when the engines kicked in on the ferry to Manly…
But we made it safely there in the end.
We discovered a rather lovely swimming pool that was essentially in the ocean.
One of the highlights of the trip was seeing the ballet at the Sydney Opera House – iconic!
We also did a fair amount of the coastal walk from Bondi Beach, until heavy rain forced us back to our hotel – it was very much worth it, though!
After doing *all*of*the*things* in Sydney, Brisbane presented a nice change of pace:
We experienced the best breakfast ever at a riverside cafe:
And enjoyed a lot of reading on our lovely balcony.
Riverside walking was definitely the theme of the trip – and we came across many amazing trees.
Brisbane was a great place to visit.
All in all, we had an amazing time and I was very proud of our primary human for taking the opportunity to go!
