On our first full day in Vancouver, we attempted to go and visit the statue of Raven and the First Men at the Anthropology Museum, but it was closed for refurbishment, so we made our way instead to Queen Elizabeth Park. The weather was a little damp, but…

QE Park 2, originally uploaded by Aloysius_Flyte. One of the features of Queen Elizabeth Park is this rather odd collection of statues, depicting a man taking a photo of two other people. Apparently, there was originally another female figure in the group, but she was stolen!

QE Park 4, originally uploaded by Aloysius_Flyte. The Large Quarry Gardens contained this rather attractive waterfall, as well as many more intersting and beautiful plants, arranged skillfully around a pleasant path.

QE Park 5, originally uploaded by Aloysius_Flyte. The biosphere was a welcome escape from the wet, and housed several very large parrots, all of which seemed happy to pose for photos.

Vancouver 1, originally uploaded by Aloysius_Flyte. The high point of any trip to Vancouver has to be cycling around Stanley Park. This is the view of Lions Gate Bridge about half way round, though the weather wasn’t very conducive to good photography that day.
