I made sure I was well prepared by the time the speeches and toasts came around.

Then came the cutting of the cake! It was a bit precarious, since the stack was taller than the humans, but these individual cupcakes were scrummy.

The festivities concluded with a ceilidh, which was tremendous fun, if a little warm. My humans’ present to the bride and groom was a ceilidh tune and dance specially commissioned for the day, and it went off extremely well.

And, of course, we mustn’t forget the happy couple themselves! It’s been a long and sometimes difficult road for them, so it was wonderful to share their big day with them. They certainly seemed to enjoy themselves, as did I!

To give a brief summary of my experience, I am widely travelled (Italy, much of Canada, India, Lapland, The Netherlands, California, Washington DC and Florida in the US). Lapland earlier this year was particularly beautiful, if a little chilly.
