DCM 13, originally uploaded by Aloysius_Flyte. There was a statue of FDR at the start of the memorial walk, and also at the end. This is the one at the end, which also included a rather cute dog.

DCM 14, originally uploaded by Aloysius_Flyte. Next stop was the Jefferson memorial, which was situated out on the tidal basin and was dominated by this huge statue of the man himself. He didn’t get a chair like Lincoln, though…

This brought us to the end of our monument/memorial tour – about six miles in all, by the time we got back to the hotel!

Santa Barbara 1, originally uploaded by Aloysius_Flyte. One of the humans we stayed with in California has a friend with a pilot’s license. He offered to fly us to Santa Barbara for lunch in his four-seater plane. Now, where would be the best place for me to sit, I wonder…?
